For the project of this bakery specializing in cakes that works in the takeaway system signed by Guilherme Garcia, we sought to escape the traditional, bringing inspiration from Art Deco, a style that permeates the project's identity. The Great Tapestry of Scotland Gallery is in Galashiels at the heart of the Scottish Borders. The building was designed to house the Great Tapestry of Scotland; a unique visual history of the nation crafted by the hands of a thousand stitchers. The Great Tapestry of Scotland was designed by Andrew Crummy to a narration written by Alistair Moffat, with the grand vision imagined by Alexander McCall Smith. The tapestry, at almost 143 metres (469 ft) in length, is a linear pictorial history of Scotland depicting key events going back 12,000 years. Former Sulzer factory site in Winterthur, the Swiss Pension Fund „Stiftung Abendrot“ built a beacon for climate-friendly and sustainable building that shimmers red in its reused sectional metal sheeting. Background. The project’s clients were a couple with two young children looking to rework the congested cellular rooms of their home, in order to create generous living spaces where cooking and play might coexist. Located in Isleworth in the London Borough of Hounslow, the family had occupied their end-of-terrace, interwar home for a number of years before appointing architects James Alder and Thom Brisco of Alder Brisco in September 2018. DSDHA has completed a major redevelopment of the National Youth Theatre’s (NYT) London headquarters, transforming the existing building’s visibility and accessibility and doubling its capacity for professional studio space. The Jennings creates safe, permanent, affordable housing for homeless domestic violence survivors and their families. It is owned and operated by a non- profit organization dedicated to serving this population and which develops supportive housing to provide residents with the platform to live stable, violence- free lives. Qub Rooms is a 10-room hotel located in a dense commercial strip in the center of Semarang, Indonesia. Once a mundane 3-story shophouse, the building was transformed into an industrial yet chic structure with a unique facade made out of multiple sized openings, cladded with black steel, creating an unexpected sight among the 90's white ceramic tiles and blue glass facades. Fitting within the urban fabric of the city, the qub(ic) shaped openings articulated across the facade in varied sizes are meant to blur the visual understanding of the real floor levels behind the facade thus heightening the scale of the building. http://dlvr.it/S8BdGG

On what was once proposed as a site for a drive-thru McDonald's in Thamesmead, an outer suburb of West London, The Reach provides well-designed, affordable new homes for over 170 residents. Its distinctive curved façade of banded red brickwork reinvigorates an existing local centre with a new sense of place, encouraging further regeneration and investment in the area. Brightly coloured projecting balconies animate the façades enclosing a generous south-facing communal garden. Starting point. The building site is in Romanshorn, a town on the shores of Lake Constance with an important railway branch junction. The main body of the settlement is a densely built-up area, with three main arms. The railway station is at the centre. Further inland, workers' housing districts were built according to plans. The new volume creates a spatial tension with the old steel structure, the sloping roof planes, and the rough materiality. When we look at Samui Island from the bird-eye view, other than the rapid growth in construction throughout the island, we would see what is left of nature and what has been with Samui from the beginning of time, the coconut trees. South of Tulum, on a 476 m2 plot, architects Fernanda Rodríguez and Joel Martínez designed and constructed four apartments which, altogether, sum 811 m2. Backwater, a new detached home designed by Platform 5 Architects replaces an outdated bungalow on a promontory in a secluded lagoon in the Norfolk broads, providing practice director, Patrick Michell with a family home. Designing a new building for the plot provided the opportunity to enhance the setting by establishing a stylish counterpoint to more traditionally designed neighbouring houses while respecting the peaceful location. Mist. The first thing that came into our mind when we started to work on this F&B design, which became our core concept of this project. The LED light is installed at the ceiling, starting from the entrance to the end of the space, running through the smoke from the shisha, like blood running through the veins inside a human body. The project is a mosque that bears the name of Al-Tasamoh mosque, located on a plot in the area of Sanhadja, a village located in the governorate of Mannouba. The project was primarily an opportunity to fulfill the desire to participate in adopting a new approach in the design of mosques in Tunisia and in changing the attitude of the population towards the traditional external forms of these buildings and to go beyond the richly ornamented spaces, this facet of the mosques the image of which clutters up the collective memory. With this in view, the mosque has been designed to combine the fundamental bases in terms of spaces and elements with a high symbolic value such as the Minbar, the Mihrab, the Minaret, and the Prayer Room ... with a sober and contemporary architecture. http://dlvr.it/S7rD3X
