Nachhaltige Chemie, the new building for research and education in sustainable chemistry expands the Technische Universität Münchens Campus Straubing science center, forming the northern entrance to the campus. The elongated three-story building lies parallel to the quayside, behind the flood wall and within the flooding zone of the river Donau, thus elevated on stilts to 3 meters above the ground. http://dlvr.it/SWVn79

In 2017, a national survey in favor of marriage equality lead to the Australian parliament passing the bill to legalize same-sex marriage, a milestone in the struggle for equality for the LGBTQI+ community. The same year, the Victorian Pride Centre (VPC), a not-for-profit organization, received funding from the Victorian Government for Australia’s first purpose-built LGBTQI+ center and subsequently held an open architectural competition for the design of the center in Fitzroy Street, St Kilda. The project transforms the town’s old dance hall– later used as commercial premises– into a 4-apartment building. Located in a modest residential neighborhood of sector 20, Panchkula, the Brick House, with a plot size of 42’ X 82’, overlooks a woody park towards South and South-East across the road on the front, and shares its boundary with a lawn on the South-West, offering picturesque views of nature along two major frontages. The family consists of a couple in their fifties and their elderly mother. They wanted three bedrooms, a decent kitchen with a separate cooking area, and a large common space with living and dining. As the client was reconstructing their home, they were clear that they wanted to have unbound access to the lawn, which happens to be one of the perks of the site’s location and orientation. The West Residence Club is located in Hell's Kitchen, one of Manhattan's most sprouting neighborhoods. The neighborhood is known for its industrial character and its rich, colorful history, which combined, create an unmistakable mystique. Today it offers varied urban architecture from brick warehouses and low-rise showrooms to open parking lots and original townhouses. Above the city level, located on top of one of the central neighborhood's hills, a sloping terrain gives way to the Asa de Borboleta Residence. “Sick Architecture” opened on May 5th at CIVA in Brussels. Co-curated by Beatriz Colomina, the exhibition investigates the intrinsic relation between architecture and sickness. The architectural discourse always weaves itself through theories of body and brain, constructing the architect as a kind of doctor and the client as the patient. Architecture has been portrayed as a form of prevention and cure for thousands of years. Yet architecture is also often the cause of illness, from the institution of hospitals to toxic building materials and sick building syndrome. Background. The project is a villa located in the coastal city of Shantou. The local fruit and vegetable market is always bustling from 1 am to 5 am. While most people are sleeping soundly, the villa's owners are busy in the market, living a life upside down day and night. For this project, AD ARCHITECTURE intended to create a healing "harbor", a cozy home full of love. The home is expected to slow down the fast-paced life of the family, and to be a container of cheers and laughter. 2+U creates a space for the community in the heart of downtown Seattle. Before Atherton, CA was a Silicon Valley boom town, lower-slung houses patterned around the landscape. Void House began when SAW encountered a house at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, settled amongst the oaks, and organized around a courtyard - all sensible arrangements. Yet there was something sort of odd happening here, a sort of top-heaviness, that was evidenced by a facade that was seemingly all roof. Taipei Performing Arts Center designed by OMA has opened to the public. The project jointly led by Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten is located at Taipei’s Shilin Night Market. The contemporary performance theatre generated debates among architects when it was first announced in 2009 due to its unusual shape. Morphed by a series of programmatic operations, the form intersects three types of theater in order to accommodate a variety of performances. Architecture firm Goettsch Partners have recently won the design competition for a new eight-building complex in the Pudong area of Shanghai. The 244,500 square meter site is one of the last underdeveloped parcels in the area. The Shanghai Lujiazui Roncheng Changyi Project features two office towers, five residential towers, and a cultural/office building. The development also includes retail spaces and various amenities. A geometry seeking to adapt to its surroundings, the main facade with few windows, so that when entering the house, a side to side the house could appreciate a large window from side to side that allows a clear view of the spring forest. Typically, film studio lots are divided into a Front Lot and a Backlot. The Front Lot is an administrative workplace while the backlot is more utilitarian with an emphasis on supporting the creation of content. The master plan for The Culver Studios blurs and blends this distinction between the Front Lot and Backlot. This is done by creating a central in-between space called the Studio Core. The CASAMIRADOR Savassi residential building, completed in 2021, is located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and features boldly designed architecture that stands out in the local landscape. The building has 14 lofts and 24 studios and is spread over nine floors in construction and located on a narrow lot, with a width of 12.7 meters. Situated about 5 km south of Nha Trang city center, Bi House Nha Trang is located in a rapidly developing suburb with an increasing population where intense concrete construction is shrinking vegetation and natural green spaces. Located on the end of a quiet, residential street in Chennai, overlooking the ocean - the project site called out for a house that opened and offered itself to the surroundings but also swaddled in its layers of privacy and barriers shielding itself from the open environment it is placed in. The design brief was very simple hence making it much more challenging – a gift from a father for his daughter who was getting married, and the house would be the starting point of her new journey. The 39’x93’ linear plot had its larger side facing the ocean front with a beautiful view of the Bay of Bengal. The Day Center located on street 20 de Julio is a project exclusively designed for the recreation and entertainment of the elderly, taking into account their needs, tastes, and interests. In the initial project setup, the client's requests were vague in general. Colour is a significant catalyst for creative exploration, which made its integration into this project a major design decision. A Father wanted to gift his entrepreneurial son a space for innovation – the latter was venturing out on an IT startup journey. The building is located in Vigodarzere, a small town close to Padua. The design challenge is dictated here by the particular shape of the intervention lot: a long strip of land about 30 meters long that develops on the north-south axis. The house is located on an urban plot with a slight slope from the street towards the back of the lot. The entire program was distributed on a single floor that is leveled with the public sidewalk, which generated an intentional outcrop of the pool at the back of the house. The pool occupies almost the entire boundary between the house and the yard at the back of the lot. Addressing the universe of the world's largest tropical forest, the book 'Living in the Amazon in the 21st Century: A Guide to Urban Planning and Design for Cities in the Peruvian lowland rainforest', has been selected as a finalist in the category of publications at the 12th Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. The issue, published in 2019 as part of the PUCP Architecture Publications, in the framework of the CASA (Self-Sustainable Amazonian Cities) project of the Climate Resilient Cities initiative of IDRC, FFLA and CDKN, focuses its research on the department of Loreto, presenting itself as "a guide for architecture and urban design, for settlements in the Amazon forest, including the social processes to be considered". http://dlvr.it/SW2y8C

The concept for the daycare centre originates from the Reggio pedagogy applied in it, which was consciously chosen by the non-profit Alois Goldhofer Foundation. In this pedagogy reusing and taking care of the old is essential. Another elementary aspect is that the strengths of the existing building are used rather than its weaknesses. The pedestrian and cyclist bridge, which is situated between the city’s historic center and town suburb ‘Zálabí’, connects cycling and pedestrian trails running along both banks of the river. Since it is located near a historic arch bridge, it is also formed by an arch structure, but it has a longer span and it has no supports in the river. The bridge structure consists of two outwardly inclined steel arches, on which a bridge deck from prestressed concrete is suspended. The rise of the arches was chosen so that in the predominant part the arches are situated above the heads of pedestrians, and thus do not obstruct their clear view of the historic city and, at the same time, it does not obscure the view of the historic bridge to people walking along the river. http://dlvr.it/SW08pc

The site is located in Elsbethen, a southeastern suburb of Salzburg. The heterogeneous surrounding predominantly consists of residential buildings resembling “daily life architecture”. The site lies in the center of Jakarta, sandwiched between buildings in the middle of a dense neighborhood. It's a gem so hidden that you can only reach it via a secret entrance to a private residence. Surrounded by concrete jungle in the tropical city, the location is heavily affected by the urban heat island effect. This unbearable heat also increases year by year due to global warming. With these problems in mind, the architects designed a solution that works with the climate.
