Located on Lac Tremblant, one of Québec’s most highly esteemed lakes, the site presented features as spectacular as they were restrictive. Very steep terrain and high rock cliffs allowed few options for implementation or traffic on the site. A very large flat rock cap on the edge of the lake was chosen as “level 0” and allowed creation of the architectural project’s anchoring identity. Offered as a kind of natural balcony over the lake, this cap had the special advantage of proximity to high cliffs, bordering the part of the land opposite the large body of water, and allowed a full appreciation of the monumentality of this natural setting. http://dlvr.it/Rwk2tk

The East Fremantle House is a contextually responsive addition to a heritagecottage in suburban Perth. The most important part of this house is the space that is not built - speci{cally, alarge northern void - a space for sun, light, sky, sound, and breeze to inhabit. The Divine House is located along the McKenzie River outside of Eugene, Oregon. Approximately 50 feet above the water level, the structure is sited on the northern, upper end of a sloping lot overlooking a dramatic bend in the river. The house has a simple rectangular footprint and a gable roof with deep overhangs. It is directly organized down the centerline of the plan below the ridge. The northern half contains the smaller, more cellular programs— the carport, the entry, the guest area, the bathroom, and the primary bedroom. The southern half is entirely open and includes the living and dining areas, the kitchen, and an adjoining covered deck. The width of the rooms and the generous depth of the overhangs was based on the maximum length of local Douglas fir structural members. http://dlvr.it/RwfHV4

The Pavilhão São Geraldo project was the result of a cooperation between two companies. The architectural concept signed by Sainz Architecture was created in harmony with the landscape project of the architect Marina Pimentel. From the first visits to the farmhouse in Strada Della Carpeneta in Strevi, we were struck by the quiet beauty of the context and the great potential of the old building: the shielded and dominant position over the Bormida valley, the surrounding vineyards, and the proximity to the ancient road to Acqui Terme (AL). The House of Sports and Associations provides municipal associations with a set of premises and outdoor facilities, lawn and covered hall, intended for management administrative of clubs and festive groupings of their members. The construction of new equipment offered the opportunity to relocate a bodybuilding and fitness club, and to create caretaker's accommodation for the entire SPORTIF Maxime Marchand complex. Flora is a residential building in one of Stockholm’s most expansive districts — Midsommarkransen. Situated on the main street Bäckvägen, the building enhances the street’s expression while adding a contemporary element. On the west side of the Place Hermann-Dumont, a complex of 3 houses, now protected, reflects an architectural project from the beginning of the 20th century. One of the three houses is located on the fold where the square meets the street. The Brussels typology then adapts to the contingencies of a corner plot. Today, the project is the starting point for a new reflection on living spaces. The living space is intended to have a ‘variable geometry’, allowing flexibility between common and private spaces, making it possible for several inhabitants to live together - a ‘kangaroo’ dwelling. http://dlvr.it/RwTBhV

Dzmoon is a housing project designed on a common land plot in Vietnam. The house is designed for a young couple and three babies. In a developing region, green spaces gradually disappear due to urbanization. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Price Tower is the famous American architect’s only realized high-rise building and one of his only extant vertically-oriented designs. Located in the plains of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and commissioned by the local oil and chemical firm H. C. Price Company, the mixed-use tower is significant not only for its singularity within Wright’s oeuvre, but because of its unique materials and structural design. Rehabilitation. The Rehabilitation of the Héctor Caballero Library is the third intervention within the community program Crear Comunidad, by the Asociación Civil Proyecto Reacciona. Crear Comunidad aims to find libraries that are in poor condition to rehabilitate them through citizen participation. Each rehabilitation seeks to generate a meeting point for the community, which allows the development of cultural activities, in order to reduce the high rates of violence and increase the quality of life in the area. He believed in the miasma theory, which holds that toxic vapors traveled through damp soil, rotted vegetation, and pools of standing water. This weekend house is located in the outskirts of San Miguel del Monte, a rural town in the Province of Buenos Aires. The massing is defined by a cross-shaped plan that connects the project to its open surroundings: it has no front and no back and no side prevails over the others. Payette is a studio reimagining what it means to practice today. This project is located in a corner that opens onto two streets and an outdoor community courtyard. The courtyard, before the renovation, had no direct connection to the bar and was accessed from the street. Now, with the reform, a shoring is created on the facade with two horizontal UPN steel beams in order to achieve the maximum opening and to generate permeability and better lighting. The town hall of Montornès del Vallès proposes the creation of a youth centre to house and direct the activities for young people of the municipality. Imbizo House is a holiday home set high in the hills above the picturesque fishing town of Knysna on South Africa’s Western Cape. The three-bedroom house was commissioned by a South African client and his family who live in the UK but wanted a second home where they could bring together both branches of their family. Socialising is central to the purpose of the house, and a layout of interconnected spaces was conceived as a contemporary take on an imbizo – the Zulu word for a gathering. Langos Bar is a tiny street food bar in Bratislava, located in an old market hall in the historical part of the city center. It is serving langos, a traditional street food dish from Hungary that uses fried sourdough flatbreads to deliver, typically, a combination of sour cream, ketchup, cheese, and garlic. With the purpose of making the difference but still keeping the spirit of youth, our design team has chosen red for the building - the color will not only identify the brand but also bring out the retro-spirit that the construction is aimed at. At roughly the size and shape of Midtown Manhattan, Net City features a new Tencent office, a residential neighborhood, schools, retail and other amenities. The project focuses on sustainability, including photovoltaic panels on rooftops, sensors that track environmental performance and flooding, and a comprehensive transportation network that prioritizes public transit, bicycles and pedestrian access. As part of a renewal agreement for the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, the city of Montreal had to replace the existing temporary structures with a larger permanent building that would more adequately meet the needs of the event. When we first visited these houses, designed by architect Javier Goerlich in 1922, we found that previous renovations, including the bathrooms and kitchens, occupied what was formerly patio space. This pattern, a common occurrence in many houses in the El Cabanyal neighborhood, reduces the spatial quality and lighting of the interiors, especially on the ground floor.
