This gallery is located at the Mugung Hall in Seoul National University of Science and Technology. This building has been used for architecture students and faculty members, but it did not have enough space for the presentation and exhibition, essential to this major. The project is located in a singular block of the Eixample district, formerly fragmented by the railway and currently opened to new public spaces. Two separate volumes define a large green central courtyard and circulation areas. The building facing the street consolidates the front of the block and the second one is conceived as an isolated building, even separating itself from the limits of the plot to respond to the existing irregular urban voids. http://dlvr.it/SH1JnV

The bridge connects pedestrian and cyclist trails situated along both banks of the River Nitra in a city of the same name. Due to local constraints the bridge structure with a very slender deck was required. Also, any load bearing members, such as pylons and cables, situated beyond the sidewalks were not allowed. Therefore, an economical tied arch structure, which represents a most logical solution, has been chosen. To allow an un-disturbing view of a historic centre of the city, the rise of the arches is as small as possible. To open the space and to invite using the bridge, the deck is suspended on outwards inclined arch ribs. In this way the river bridging received a modern, dynamic appearance. http://dlvr.it/SH0rcp

In planning TOMORE’s 0 space, we needed to account for the living space that would be added to future spaces, so 2 separate areas were necessary. In the heart of Merida’s historic downtown, just a few steps away from the Canton Palace in Paseo de Montejo, we find Casa Canela, a colonial house from the beginning of last century, that holds behind its sober façade, a contemporary 2-bedroom residence. Walking through the green doors, a spectacular sculpture by Javier Marin welcomes you. Located right in the middle of the room, under a simple hanging lamp and the original green beams, surrounded by the stone walls and antique white pasta tiles. A housing complex consisting of six units, planned for spring 2019 and completed in autumn 2021. Located in Shitamachi Tokyo, it is in the heart of a quiet residential area with a local shrine and shopping district, as well as many long-term residents. Flowing Cloud Township Villa is located in Qinglongwu, an ancient village in Tonglu, and is part of the "Fangyukongxiangsu Cultural and Creative Complex". In the future, various cultural activities will be held here all year round. In 2017, MDO was commissioned to renovate 6 existing village houses on the original site and transform them into guest houses. The Gangtou Diesel Power Plant was built in the 1980s adjacent to the Shajing Ancient Fair, Shenzhen, as part of the village-run industrial area of Shajing Gangtou, supplying electricity to the village of Shajing and neighboring urban villages in the early years of reform and development. The plant was abandoned over a decade ago when Shenzhen's electricity supply was fully covered by the national grid. The ruins of the power plant have become dangerous due to age and disrepair. In order to build the Bao'an Oyster Township Lake Park, the power plant ruins and the surrounding buildings are scheduled to be completely demolished in October 2019. The Shajing Village Hall is a new way to preserve and revitalize the ruins as industrial heritage, giving them new value. The client’s requirement to address privacy and security concerns while adding covered space to park an extra vehicle resulted in an annex that deals with all issues at once. The project comes from the need of clients to create a refuge near Madrid where they could get away from their busy lives in the city center. The plot and its location almost completely determine the design of the house. A small plot located within a pine forest with a 12-meter height difference and views to the valley to the South. Adaptive Reuse is an important aspect of managing a sustainable existence. Buildings contain massive amounts of embodied energy and the more we can adapt and repurpose them, the better. Buildings are also repositories of collective memories and histories. As we modify them, these layer in new and interesting ways. This video explores the topic through the case study of ‘The Plant,’ a food incubator in Chicago housed within a former pork processing facility. The building’s location and existing infrastructure made it a perfect candidate for its new purpose. A master plan based on climate factors. The Central Park is a new 67-hectare public park built on the abandoned site of a former airport northwest of the center of Taichung, a city of 3 million people in central Taiwan. The park is at the heart of a new 256-hectare real estate development. It is a core of nature, planted with nearly 12,000 trees. Due to its topography, its valleys acting as retention basins, it also acts as a sponge for all the rainwater in the new district, preventing flooding and overloading the network. Taichung has a hot, humid, and polluted tropical climate. The ambition of the park is to offer cooler, drier, and less polluted places. http://dlvr.it/SGh0QX

The Je Jung-Gu Community Center is a modest cultural space paying tribute to the life and legacy of the late human rights activist Je Jung-Gu. The Center, open to both residents and visitors, is located at a park bordering the Daega Reservoir in Goseong County, Sothern Gyeongsang Province. Mr. Je, a native of Goseong County, dedicated his life to advocating the human rights of the urban poor including their right to survival. He championed a communal life by practicing the values of living together and sharing as opposed to separation and ownership. More than anyone else, he appreciated the human dignity inherent to everyone. The center comprises twin single-story buildings. The “Acer“ house, situated on a picturesque hill, in Hancesti, is a bespoke design for a middle-aged family. The house is the axis around which the daily life of the family revolves. The core of the building consists of a wooden framework carried by a slab foundation. A study in modern country-style living, manifesting as an enclave of barn-like forms which speak to the land, the earth, and the interplay between texture, light, and space. With ‘Work From Home’ becoming mandatory at the time, the perception of a viable workspace has found various interpretations. The house in Erl is in a residential area with one house after the next. The property has a slight slope that rises from west to east. Set back a little from the street, the building adjoins the western boundary with an entrance and a wide garage driveway. The Çanakkale Antenna Tower designed by Powerhouse Company is nearing completion. Located on a forested hill, the weathering steel structure envelops the landscape before growing into a 100-metre tall tower that offers a panoramic view of the historic Turkish city. Daijin Village, located in Jinshan District, Shanghai, is a typical waterside village in the south of the Yangtze River. For generations, the local villagers have lived near water and made a living by fishing and farming. With the construction of the nearby Huakai Haishang Ecological Garden, the local life has also gradually changed. The increasing number of tourists called for new types of tourism. It was difficult for traditional forms of agritainment to meet the demands of tourists from cities. For this reason, creating an example and template of new forms of homestay to promote the industrial upgrading for surrounding peasants became the reason for Huahai homestay. Architecture in Mexico has a vast history that is made up of various aspects that touch astrological, political, spiritual and economic issues. Although today there are only ruins of some of the most important pre-Hispanic complexes, thanks to the in-depth research that has been carried out, we can have some representations of what those buildings that laid the foundations of what makes us today were like. Text by Hannah Van Breen. In Ouled Merzoug, a small earthen village near the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, a piece of land was offered by the community to the recently founded women’s association AFOM (Association des Femmes d’Ouled Merzoug). Within the postgraduate certificate Building Beyond Borders, organized by UHasselt SEE, the participants designed and built in close collaboration with local women and workers. The end result of this participatory process is a Women's House: a meeting, working and learning place in the centre of the village. A place where women can share their crafts with the community and visitors. In this project, the limits of the sustainable buildings were challenged by maximizing the use of local and regenerative materials and the confrontation between traditional and contemporary building techniques. http://dlvr.it/SGRL3N

Agricultural products exhibition for supporting rural industries revitalization 2021 opens a new chapter of China's Rural Revitalization Initiative. As industries take the lead in rural revitalization, quality agricultural products and better ways of displaying them are essential. This is quite true for Houyanmen Village in Huanfeng Town, Xiuwu County. The Yuntai Ice Chrysanthemum Industry Park in the village needed an exhibition space to display its ice chrysanthemum (a species of medicinal chrysanthemum) products, and the operator thought that what products display needed was just a place with a moderate size. Therefore, they commissioned a familiar steel structure manufacturer to construct a space with portal steel frames at a very fast speed, for serving product display and livestreaming selling activities. Such portal steel frames replicated the structures of other plants in the industry park. The operator thought that the space was ready for use once furniture pieces were set
