The dozen or so buildings that make up the Convento do Beato complex date from a number of different eras. They include the old church, what remains of the old convent, and several buildings constructed mainly for industrial use in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Sub-Saharan Africa is home to an enormous number of religious adherents – within which there is extraordinary diversity in religious expression. Iconic buildings serving a religious purpose are found throughout the continent, such as The Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family in central Nairobi or the Hare Krishna Temple in South Africa. Gastro Circuit is a crafted private kitchen studio designed to cater to groups of up to 12 guests, featuring a dynamic lineup of rotating chefs. Upon entering, patrons are greeted by a dimly lit corridor adorned with custom-made square wooden tiles. Following an international competition, AMDL CIRCLE has been selected to create the pavilion which will represent the spirit and vision of the Nordic Countries at the Expo Osaka in 2025. Their proposal takes a sustainable and circular approach, as the structure is purposely designed for disassembly and reuse. In the last century, upholding sanitary conditions in urban areas has remained a persistent challenge, particularly in a nation that houses over 1.5 billion people. India grapples with a myriad of issues- inadequate infrastructure for sanitation, lack of public toilets, and poor waste management practices. In densely populated cities, the struggle intensifies as sanitation and cleanliness management falters. A triple house with a courtyard that connects generations - Extension of a house in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture - The owner of the building did not want the environment that his family had lived in for generations to come to an end, so he chose to continue living there by building a new building on the land where his parents and grandmother lived. http://dlvr.it/SxpwLT

Overview - The ‘Meet and Greet” building of Kavya Resort is sculpted to witness the drama of passing clouds. Placed in the highest resort in Nagarkot, Nepal, the site experiences a dynamic moment of clear visibility, suddenly changing into total obscurity. While the two rock-shaped volumes are oriented to capture views of the Himalayas and the valley below, their separation creates the passage for the clouds – sometimes bringing the fog and moisture deep inside the building. In the heart of Albania’s capital city, a new kind of cultural hub is now open and accessible to the public. The Pyramid of Tirana, originally built as a museum dedicated to the communist dictator Enver Hoxha, has been dramatically transformed by MVRDV. Reusing the concrete structure, the Pyramid is now an open sculpture in a new park. The park and the sculpture are home to an ensemble of colorful boxes, scattered in and around the original building that now houses cafés, studios, workshops, start-up offices, incubators, festivals, and classrooms where Albanian youth will learn various technology subjects for free. CPC concrete slabs are based on the technology of "carbon pre-stressed concrete," which originated from a long-term research project conducted by the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur (ZHAW) and Silidur AG, Andelfingen. Since it was launched in 2007, the Manchester International Festival has taken place in existing buildings both large and small throughout the city. But spaces with the qualities needed by the art pieces commissioned by the Festival are fewer and fewer, disappearing amid Manchester’s fast-paced redevelopment into England’s new economic hub. The project is a single-family house in an urban context in the valleys of the city of Quito, Ecuador. The proposal is defined by two basic decisions, on one hand, establishing a harmonious relationship with a neighboring built project and on the other hand, promoting privacy so that spaces that do not require connection can function independently. http://dlvr.it/SxXzhr

This project deals with the renovation of an apartment in a large-scale residential complex from the 1970s in the outskirts of Cologne. The apartment is inhabited by a family of four. With 82 m2 of living space, it is small by today‘s standards. Nowadays, 47 m2 per person are average in Germany. Our objective is to bring the apartment in line with contemporary spatial expectations. VNBC is a transformation of a family dwelling in Brussels. Part of a set of worker’s houses built in the 50’s in the residential and very green district of Boitsfort, in the south of the city, this house was composed of three very closed facades on the outside and of multiple small spaces without any connection or fluidity between each other. http://dlvr.it/SxSX0J

Through this project, as a Vietnamese folk artist, the investor wishes to preserve the enduring values of Đạo Mẫu, which is an inherent belief of the Vietnamese people throughout generations and has remained resilient to this day. The project is nestled within the enchanting embrace of a quaint village near the capital city of Hanoi. Spanning across an expansive area of approximately 5,000 square metres, the site is filled with a 50-year-old orchard including various fruit trees, pine trees, and bonsai trees. Implanted a few meters from the beach, in a residential condominium in Ubatuba, north coast of São Paulo, Residence CCL was designed to be integrated with the exuberant nature of the location. The use of natural materials, large spans, and lots of transparency provided great integration with nature, which became the strong point of the project. Trappes is a French suburban city located in the great area of Paris, with a large part of the population suffering from poverty and undergoing major changes in its built environment. To be able to accommodate its growing population, the city initiated the revitalization of its facilities, including schools. The Jean Macé complex is a great example of French school buildings from the end of the 60s. The city commission included the thermic rehabilitation of facades, the reorganization of uses and flow, and two extensions to accommodate new classrooms and a new leisure canter. Taking this as a starting point our objective was also to embrace the potential of the school and make it a safe and stimulating building for children with an emphasis on local and bio-sourced material and thermic efficiency. http://dlvr.it/SxB1kY

Designed for a couple with a child, this dwelling faces the challenge of a north-facing orientation on its longer side and a facade that opens to the west. Nansheng Center locates in Yongjia village of Wenzhou. The site is near the main avenue between village center and city downtown, and has well-developed transportation surrounded. Semiramis is an architectural installation designed with artificial intelligence that was constructed in 2022 at the entrance of a new Tech Cluster Zug, Switzerland. As a herald for the increasingly interwoven collaboration between machines and humans, it aims to go beyond usual urban programs and it will rise as a vertical urban habitat reserved for plants and small local animals. By dwelling between the artificial and the natural, Semiramis has been established through a manifold of synergies and research projects in the fields of interactive computational design, machine learning, and digital fabrication. The project is based on two fundamental premises. The first of them was the intention to restore the plot to its landscape condition. This landscape condition is denied by the urban zoning process, which transforms the territory into something that is no longer a mountain or a valley, but a series of numbered plots characterized by parameters that have no relation to its original essence, such as its biodiversity, drainage capacity, resilience, etc; instead, they focus on its new condition as an urban product, such as square meters, building capacity, and occupancy percentage.  http://dlvr.it/Swsp6v

Located in the hills of Montecito, California, a 2,500-square-foot, 1970s residence and combination guesthouse/home office presented the design team with the challenge of achieving a bold program with a modest budget. Collaborating with the client, the designers reworked the home to invest it with a unique residential character and bring it up to date. Marshgate, a 35,000 sqm state-of-the-art academic building designed by Stanton Williams, has been completed at the forefront of the UCL East campus, in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This project is located in the Safayieh region in Yazd, which is one of those modern civil contexts in this city. Most of the constructions in this area are single materialled with the same form and without any dialogue with the city. The separator walls of these buildings in the street are all the same height and also, and they are all solid in material with no transparency, no matter the function of the building; because of that, the possibility of visual communication between passers and people with the buildings are very low and minimum. http://dlvr.it/Swqz6l
